The SACRE Committee Membership
A Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education (SACRE) is set up to represent a balance of all the interests of the local community.
The structure of the Staffordshire SACRE is made up of four groups, also defined as committees.
- Christian denominations and other religions, reflecting the diversity of the various faith communities in the locality.
- The Church of England
- Teacher and Head teacher associations
- Staffordshire County Council elected members.
The specific number of members in each of the groups will usually be set out in the individual SACRE’s constitution.
Membership of the SACRE is for a five-year period. Meetings take place three times a year (once a term) on a Wednesday afternoon at the County Buildings, Stafford, starting at 2.00pm and generally lasting no more than two hours.
Further details of meetings, and agendas are available on the Committee details page. For further details of the committee membership, visit moderngov.
Joining the Staffordshire SACRE
The Staffordshire SACRE is open to representatives from various groups, including those listed above.
Members are nominated to be appointed to the SACRE by the leaders of the faiths they represent.
