Wulfric Spot - One Thousand Years Commemoration

A set of four postcards commemorating 1000 years of the will of Wulfric Spot, founder of Burton Abbey. There are four cards in the set: an 18th Century sketch showing Wulfric Spot wearing bizarre armour; a colour reproduction of part of the Charter of Ethelred II, confirming the Will granting lands to found Burton Abbey in 1004; a copperplate engraving of Burton Abbey, 1661; a sepia drawing of Burton Abbey in its rural setting by H.C. Allport (1788-1855).
