Non-recyclable household waste
Unsure if it can be recycled? Check your local council for further information on what can be accepted in the recycling bin. Most of the items brought to the Staffordshire’s recycling centres can either be reused or recycled. See the full list of what can be recycled at your local recycling centre.
Recovery
Most household items that cannot be reused or recycled can be placed in your kerbside rubbish bin. Electrical items should not be thrown in the rubbish bin, they contain hazardous and valuable materials and should be recycled properly. Check your local council for further information on what other items can and cannot be placed in the rubbish bin.
Excess waste can be taken to Staffordshire’s recycling centres. All waste placed in your rubbish bin or the residual skip at the recycling centre is taken to one of Staffordshire’s energy recovery plants.
