Using the recycling centre

Please take care when using the recycling centre, keeping children and pets in the vehicle at all times and using pedestrian routes where possible. Consider wearing protective gloves and sturdy footwear to prevent cuts.

If you need help unloading your vehicle, please alert a member of staff. Please note that due to health and safety, site staff are not obliged to assist in lifting heavy bags of waste or items. Consider using small bags for heavy items and breaking up large heavy items before visiting the site.

For residents that don’t drive or have a vehicle, please contact us for advice.

Vans & trailers

From 4 September 2023, Staffordshire residents who use a van or trailer when disposing of household waste, will require a permit to visit any of Staffordshire’s Recycling Centres.

The permit will allow you 12 visits per year in your van or with a trailer over 1.5 metres.

You will not need a permit for a car, visits in a car are unlimited.

You will need to apply for a permit online. Once you get to the site you will need to present your permit to the staff on site.
