Supporting Care Leavers into employment
Discover the benefits of employing a care leaver as part of your social value agenda
Businesses and organisations of all sizes and sectors are diversifying their workforce and boosting their commitment to local communities by supporting a Staffordshire care leaver.
Over 1,000 Staffordshire young people, aged between 16 and 25, have lived with a foster family, in a children’s home or other supported housing service. Despite being very capable and having a lot to offer, care leavers are significantly less likely to be in education, employment or training.
We, and many businesses believe that care experienced young people should have the same opportunities and aspirations as other young people.
JG Fenn, Cosydirect, Time for Sport UK, and residential care company 1 Step Beyond have committed to taking on care leavers into their workforce.
Employing care experienced young people
Employing care experienced young people as part of your workforce not only boosts diversity and skills, but also goes a long way towards your company’s commitment to local social value.
We’re making it much easier for businesses to employ care leavers by offering an expert matching service, and/or opportunity to contribute to the Care Leavers’ Bursary Fund to support them with training and employment-related costs.
