Staffordshire County Council will shortly be carrying out significant works at Burntwood rd/ Brownhills rd as work commences on a £500,000 investment in the local area.

The team will be making repairs to damaged drainage systems, replacing ironwork where necessary, replacing damaged kerbs, resurfacing footways where necessary and resurfacing the carriageway.

All civils and preparation works will be carried out under temporary traffic management where possible. A road closure will be required during these surfacing phases of the works.

When are the works taking place?

The work will commence on 29 July 2024 and will take approximately 5 weeks.

Weeks 1-3 will take place using signals

Weeks 4 and 5 require the road to be closed for resurfacing

What is the duration of the works?

It will take approximately 5 weeks to complete the works.

Will I be able to access my home/business?

For the safety of the public and of the work force, there will be phased traffic management including road closures and traffic signals. Where road closures are required a full diversion route will be in place. Weeks 1-3 of the scheme we will use multi directional signals only.

What effect could the works have on me?

We take care to make sure that work is completed with the minimum of disturbance to the local community but as with any major works, some minor traffic delays may occur.

Although we will do our best to ensure that noise pollution is kept to a minimum, it is likely that construction noise will be heard during the working times.

Please take care to plan your journeys as delays may be expected during the works.
