Staffordshire County Council will shortly be carrying out Structural Maintenance Works on A449 Wolverhampton Road, Himley and Junctions of Dudley Road and Bridgenorth Road. The team will be replacing ironwork where necessary, replacing damaged kerbs and resurfacing the carriageway.

When are the works taking place?

The work will commence on 19 August 2024

When will the works be completed?

Approximately 5 weeks to complete the works.

Will I be able to access my home/business?

During our preparation and civil works, Lane closures will be in operation.

For the safety of general public and workforce, road closures will be on Dudley Road and Bridgenorth road during the carriageway surfacing phases, A449 will remain open under three way traffic signals.

For the number of properties within the work area, access will be maintained when safe to do so. Delays must be expected during resurfacing phases.

A diversion route will be in place for properties outside the work space, no through traffic will be permitted.

For the small number of properties within the work area, access will be maintained when safe to do so. Delays must be expected during the work period.

What effect could the works have on me?

We take care to make sure that work is completed with the minimum of disturbance to the local community but as with any major works, some minor traffic delays may occur.

Although we will do our best to ensure that noise pollution is kept to a minimum, it is likely that construction noise will be heard during the working times.

Please take care to plan your journeys as delays may be expected during the site investigation works.
