Ingredients

For the Flatbread:

  • 150ml water
  • 250g self raising flour (extra flour for dusting the surface)
  • 1 tbsp mixed herbs
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

For the Filling:

  • 150g cheese, grated
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1/2 tin baked beans
  • 2 tsp mixed herbs
  • Pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180 °C/Gas Mark 5.
  2. In a bowl mix together the water, flour, herbs and oil to make a sticky dough. Cover the bowl with a tea towel and leave for 5 mins.
  3. Fry chopped onion in a little oil and allow to cool.
  4. Mix all the ingredients for the filling together in a bowl.
  5. Dust a clean surface with flour and knead the dough for 1 minute.
  6. Cut dough into 4 pieces and roll into squares.
  7. Cut out a round shape using a bowl as a template.
  8. Place filling in centre and fold over pastry using your thumb or a fork to press the edges together.
  9. Brush with milk and place in the oven for 15 to 20 mins.
