Pasta Bolognese

Ingredients

  • Dried pasta
  • 1 x tablespoon olive oil
  • 500g beef mince
  • 100g carrot, grated
  • 2 x 400g tin chopped tomatoes
  • 2 onions
  • 2 garlic cloves

Instructions

  1. On a medium heat fry the mince in the oil until starting to brown then transfer into a bowl.
  2. Add the onions to the pan and fry for several minutes until softened.
  3. Add the garlic and grated carrot and fry for another 2-3 mins.
  4. Add the mince back into the pan and mix.
  5. Add the tinned tomatoes to the pan and stir well. Bring to the boil and simmer for about 30 minutes until cooked.
  6. Add the pasta to a large saucepan of boiling water. Cook until it is soft, then drain and add to the pan with the Bolognese sauce.
  7. Mix well and serve.

Extras

Try adding mushrooms or courgettes with the carrot.
