Experimental Order 2024

 

  1. Staffordshire County Council on 10th September 2024 made an Experimental Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to introduce no waiting at any time on Nelson Street and Ball Haye Green, Leek.

 

  1. Documents may be examined during office hours at 1 Staffordshire Place, Tipping Street, Stafford, ST16 2DH and during opening hours at Leek Library, Nicholson Institute, Stockwell Street, Leek, ST136DW or at www.staffordshire.gov.uk/trafficregulationorders.

 

  1. The Order will commence on 13th September 2024 and will continue in force for up to 18 months.

 

  1. The Council will be considering in due course whether the provisions of the Order should be continued indefinitely. Representations and objections against the Order being continued indefinitely should be sent in writing to: Highway Maintenance and Network Management, Third Floor, Staffordshire Place 1, Tipping Street, Stafford, ST16 2DH or to trafficregulationorderobjections@staffordshire.gov.uk within six months of the Order coming into operation, quoting reference TR20/24 and stating the grounds on which they are made.

Experimental Order 2024

 

The Staffordshire County Council (“The Council”) in exercise of its powers under Sections 9 and 10 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“The 1984 Act”) and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to The 1984 Act, herby makes the following Order:-

 

  1. In this order:

 

  1. “Traffic Manager” has the same meaning as in Section 17 of the Traffic Management Act 2004

 

  1. The following restrictions shall come into effect: No waiting at any time.

 

  1. Under Section 10(2) of The 1984 Act, the Traffic Manager of The Council or a person authorised by that officer, may modify or suspend the operation of the Experimental Order or any provision of it if it appears essential for any of the reasons stated in that Section.

 

  1. This Order may be cited as the Staffordshire County Council (No Waiting at any Time) (Nelson Street and Haye Ball, Leek) Experimental Order 2024 and shall come into operation on 13 September 2024 for a period not exceeding 18 months.

 

Schedule

The proposal is to introduce no waiting at any time 24 hours a day, 7 days week.

  • To commence from the edge of the junction along the kerb on the north side of Ball Haye Green in a north-easterly direction for approximately 8m between the junction and property no 37 on Ball Haye Green.
  • To commence from the edge of the junction along the kerb on the west side of Ball Haye Green in a south westerly direction for approximately 10m between the junction and property no 27 on Ball Haye Green.
  • To commence from the edge of the junction along the kerb on the north side of Nelson Street in a north-westerly direction for approximately 10m between the junction and property no 33.
  • To commence from the edge of the junction along the kerb on the northwest side of Nelson Street in a north-westerly direction for approximately 10m between the junction and property no 1 on Nelson Street.
  • To commence from a point approximately 14m southwest of the junction Ball Haye Green and Milk Street, in a south westerly direction for a distance of 12m along the Ball Haye Green between existing bus cage markings and property no 1 on Ball Haye Green.

The total length of the restriction on the north side at the junction of Nelson Street and Ball Haye Green Road is 22m

The total length of the restriction on the west side at the junction of Nelson Street and Ball Haye Green Road is 22.7m

The length of the restriction on Ball Haye Green after the existing bus cage marking is 12m.
