CX015 Structural Maintenance Work for the A519 Brook Lane, Newcastle-Under-Lyme
Staffordshire County Council will shortly be carrying out site investigation works at the A519 Brook Lane, as they start work on an £600,000 investment in the local area.
The team will be replacing ironwork where necessary, replacing damaged kerbs and resurfacing the carriageway.
The works will be conducted under lane closures, and nighttime closures for the resurfacing of the carriageway.
When are the works taking place?
The work will commence on the 2 September 2024
When will the works be completed?
Approximately 10 weeks to complete the works.
Will I be able to access my home/business?
For the safety of the public and of the work force this road will be closed during the resurfacing of the carriageway, this will be done initially between 27th September and 3rd October. There will be a final road closure between 14th October and 21st October to finish the carriageway works. To keep delays to a minimum, these road closures will be within the hours of 19:00 – 06:00.
Access to the surrounding roads for residents will be maintained for the majority of the scheme. Delays must be expected during resurfacing phases.
During the road closures, a diversion route will be in place for properties outside the workspace, no through traffic will be permitted.
What effect could the works have on me?
We take care to make sure that work is completed with the minimum of disturbance to the local community but as with any major works, some minor traffic delays may occur.
Although we will do our best to ensure that noise pollution is kept to a minimum, it is likely that construction noise will be heard during the working times.
Please take care to plan your journeys and if necessary move vehicles to an accessible location during work phases (public letters will be delivered to affected properties with specific scheme details).
