Structural Maintenance Work for the A511 Horninglow Road North, Burton on Trent
Staffordshire County Council will shortly be carrying out significant works at A511 Horninglow Road North, Burton on Trent, as they start work on a £900,00 investment in the local area. The team will be replacing ironwork where necessary, replacing damaged kerbs and resurfacing the carriageway.
A road closure will be required during some stages of this scheme, which is expected to take approximately 10 days. Details and access arrangements will be provided once the construction programme is finalised.
When are the works taking place?
The work will commence on the 15 of January 2024 and is anticipated to be completed by the 21 February 2024.
How long will the works take?
Approximately 6 weeks to complete the works.
Will I be able to access my home/business?
During our preparation and civil works, temporary traffic signals will be in operation.
For the safety of general public and workforce, this road will be closed during the carriageway surfacing phases. More information on how this will work, will be provided once our construction programme is finalised.
For the number of properties within the work area, access will be maintained when safe to do so. Delays must be expected during resurfacing phases.
A diversion route will be in place for properties outside the work space, no through traffic will be permitted.
We recognise that there is never a good time to close a road. We have planned to close the road for resurfacing during the school holidays. This will help to minimise disruption to the local area, in particular when traffic volumes are reduced, enabling the works to be completed as soon as possible. Please allow extra time for your journeys and, where possible, please use alternative routes to avoid delays.
What effect could the works have on me?
We take care to make sure that work is completed with the minimum of disturbance to the local community but as with any major works, some minor traffic delays may occur.
Although we will do our best to ensure that noise pollution is kept to a minimum, it is likely that construction noise will be heard during the working times.
Please take care to plan your journeys and if necessary move vehicles to an accessible location during work phases (public letters will be delivered to affected properties with specific scheme details).
