Kerbing, drainage and carriageway resurfacing works – A34 The Fillybrooks/Walton Roundabout, A520 Stafford Road and B5026 Eccleshall Road, Stone 

Staffordshire County Council working with Amey Services Ltd will shortly be carrying out the above £1.0 million scheme.

When are the works taking place?

Works will commence on 17 July.

What is the duration of the works?

The scheme is expected to be completed on 15 August.

Will I be able to access my home/business? 

  • 17-21 July: Plane off the existing carriageway and relay binder course – full, night-time road closures of the A34, A520 & B5026, From 8pm to 6am. 
  • 24 July to 4 August: Materials testing and lifting/replacing ironwork – Traffic management using 24 hour lane closures along the A34. 
  • 8-11 August: Laying carriageway surface course – full, night-time road closures of the A34, A520 and B5026, from 8pm to 6am. 
  • 14-15 August: Install carriageway lining – full, night-time road closures of the A34, A520 and B5026, from 8pm to 6am. 

Updates will be provided, should any delays occur.

What effect could the works have on me?

We take care to make sure that work is completed with the minimum of disturbance to the local community but as with any major works, it is expected that delays will be experienced.

How you can help us

  • Please keep children away from the works to ensure their safety.
  • Always adhere to the road closures and diversions.
  • Please drive appropriately through the works.
  • Check your shoes before entering your property or car to make sure there is no bitumen from the works.
