McPhillips will be undertaking essential works in order to facilitate the entrance to a new development being carred out by Redrow Homes Limited.

Please see below the General Arrangement Plan which details the proposals and extent of works. Please also see the diversion plan and note that the nearby craft centre will be fully operational while works are taking place:

 To summarise the works will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Site clearance
  • Improvements to highway drainage and flood mitigation
  • Full depth carriageway construction
  • Provision of new and alterations to existing footpaths
  • Installation of signals under the bridge
  • New traffic signs and road markings
  • New lighting columns
  • Tree planting
  • Change in speed limit along Watery Lane
  • Provision of new and alterations to existing utilities

When are the works taking place?

The works are taking place from Wednesday 19 June 2024.

How long will the works take?

The works are expected to be take place for a period of 22 weeks.

What effect could the works have on me?

A section of Watery Lane will be closed to traffic, cyclists and pedestrians during the works. For further information see the diversion plan on this page.

We will make every effort to minimise any unnecessary disturbance and those working on site are briefed on working responsibly in the local community.
